Indian families in the UAE can study the NIOS secondary and senior secondary programmes with live daily teaching on Gulf-friendly timings, and a learning coach for every learner.

NIOS is India’s national open-schooling board. For Indian families in the UAE that matters: if you move back to India mid-school, your child can stay on the same board instead of switching, and NIOS also allows flexibility in pacing and subject choice.
Dreamtime teaches NIOS live, from Grade 9 to Grade 12, in small batches of 20 to 28 learners with a learning coach, so flexibility never means studying alone.

SECONDARY SCHOOL
Grade 9 & 10
Live NIOS secondary classes. Batch 1: 8:15 AM – 12:45 PM GST. Batch 2: 9:50 AM – 2:15 PM GST.

Grade 11 & 12
Live NIOS senior secondary classes. Batch 1: 8:15 AM – 12:45 PM (GST).
Recognition
NIOS equivalence is documented in two letters published on the NIOS website. We encourage you to read them rather than take our word for it.
Some institutions apply their own eligibility rules, so check your target university’s requirements before Grade 11 subject selection, not after.

Is NIOS recognised?
Yes. The Association of Indian Universities granted equivalence of NIOS courses with other recognised boards for admission to higher studies at Indian universities (letter of 25 July 1991), and a Ministry of Human Resource Development letter of 11 December 2002 restates it. Both are published on nios.ac.in.
Will universities accept NIOS?
Under the 1991 equivalence, NIOS courses are accepted for admission to higher studies at Indian universities. A small number of highly competitive institutions and some overseas universities apply their own eligibility rules, so check the specific university’s requirements before Grade 11 subject selection, not after.
Do NIOS students get live classes?
Yes. Dreamtime teaches NIOS Grades 9 to 12 through live classes with qualified teachers, not just recorded videos. Learners can also choose Cambridge or BOSSE pathways if NIOS is not the right fit.
What time are classes in the UAE?
Gulf Standard Time is UTC+4 and India is UTC+5:30, so classes start exactly 1 hour 30 minutes earlier in the UAE, all year. A 9:45 AM IST NIOS batch starts at 8:15 AM GST. Full timings are on our class timings page.
Is Dreamtime licensed by a UAE education authority?
Dreamtime Learning School is an online school and does not operate a physical campus in the UAE, so it is not licensed by the education authority of your emirate. The qualifications students work towards (Cambridge IGCSE and A Level, NIOS and BOSSE) are awarded by their own boards. If your visa, sponsorship or employer arrangements require your child to attend a school licensed by the education authority of your emirate, please confirm your position with the education authority of your emirate and your employer before enrolling with any online school.
