Kochi, or Cochin, is Kerala’s main port and commercial city on the Arabian Sea, about 80 km from Thrissur and roughly 200 km from Thiruvananthapuram. Like much of Kerala, it has long-standing family and work links with the Gulf, so some families move between India and the Middle East during a child’s school years. Dreamtime Learning School is a full-time live online school, so a child can keep the same school through those moves.
Boards and the school year in Kerala
Kerala schools traditionally reopen in early June. Most follow the Kerala syllabus, with the SSLC exam in Class 10 and Higher Secondary exams in Plus One and Plus Two, or CBSE and ICSE. Dreamtime does not teach these boards. Learners follow Cambridge from Primary through IGCSE and AS and A Level, which are international qualifications, or the NIOS and BOSSE open-schooling boards in Grades 9 to 12.
Gulf moves, timings and fees
If you relocate to the UAE, the same live batches run 1 hour 30 minutes earlier on Gulf Standard Time; in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain they run 2 hours 30 minutes earlier. Batches have 20 to 28 learners, and Dreamtime is a Cambridge International School (centre IN308) with families in 45+ countries. Tuition starts at ₹50,000 a year; the ₹5,000 admission fee is paid during admission and the ₹3,500 caution deposit is refundable. See the class timings and fees.
You need a laptop or desktop with a webcam and a 30 Mbps connection. Mid-year admissions are open, so book a free demo class whenever it suits your family.
